Limnos: A Wall Narrative

The following works were created as part of the artistic project "Talking Walls" organised by the Development Company of Limnos and the local CLLD LEADER programme.

In April 2025, visual artists creatively connected to Limnos, including Katerina Veroutsou, Nikos Dedes, Sotos Zachariadis, Antonis Katsoulis, and Nikolas Bliatkas, had 10 days to imagine, learn, and create large-scale works that capture the history and heritage of Limnos. Working in an informal 'atelier' at the Primary School of Thanos, they had the opportunity to deepen their connections, exchange ideas and experiences, and interact with people and initiatives from Limnos, Greece, and around the world. The vibrant colours and expressive nature of their works reflect this collaborative spirit.

On April 10 and 11, student groups from the Special Education Unit of Repanidi and the General High School of Moudros visited Thanos village to learn from the visual artists about the stories and techniques behind the works. They documented the creative process using their mobile cameras and took part in the creation of a collective piece representing the “Double-Handled Goblet”, an important prehistoric finding from Limnos.

A total of 6 works from the project now adorn exterior walls in various locations across the island, including the capital, Myrina, the villages of Moudros, Nea Koutali, Romanou, Portianou, and the 'Hephaestus' airport.
